Mike Diamond Plumbing, Inc., The smell good plumber™, whom the Los Angeles Business Journal has called “L.A.’s most famous plumber”, celebrated their seventh year organizing a holiday toy drive in December 2008.
The North Hollywood local service center began this company tradition seven years ago when employees collectively decided that they would each donate a holiday gift for a needy child or teen, instead of having a typical office gift exchange. Mike Diamond employees found the toy drive to be an enriching and rewarding experience, and have since repeated it every year.
On December 1st, the service center chooses a toy drive in which to participate. In 2008, Mike Diamond employees selected the CHiPS For Kids Toy Drive, a charity run by the California Highway Patrol. Collected gifts are distributed by the CHP to disadvantaged and hospitalized children. Mike Diamond dropped off its collected gifts at the CHP West Valley Office in Woodland Hills.
Mike Diamond’s North Hollywood branch manager Amir Naftali comments on the significance of the Mike Diamond toy drive. “It’s so gratifying to be able to give something back to our local community. Mike Diamond Plumbing understands that many people face difficult circumstances in their lives. It’s our pleasure to be able to help those that are in need”.
The North Hollywood branch of Mike Diamond Plumbing has donated approximately 315 toys since it started the toy drive seven years ago.
